A simple solution for electrical unlocking exit devices
SDC latch retraction kits are a great solution for electrically unlocking exit devices. Because the electronics are mounted inside the exit device rail, there are no exposed components to be tampered with.
Operating on 24VDC power at 700mA to retract, and only 200mA to hold, SDC latch retraction kits don’t require expensive power supplies. Being motor driven means that electrically unlocking the door is much quieter than by using solenoid operated OEM systems or electric strikes.
Field installed kits make upgrading existing exit devices simple, and allow distributors to make use of their existing inventory. Long lead-times for OEM latch retraction exit devices can be avoided and fewer exit device models need to be stocked to support your day to day needs. Some kits can be installed in the field in as few as five minutes. There are excellent installation videos available for installers to follow along with the paper copies that come with each kit.

Latch retraction kits are adaptable
The SDC latch retraction kits are UL classified for use with 3 hour fire rated and non-fire rated exit devices. When installed on fire rated openings the power supply must also be correctly connected to the fire alarm system so the exit device latches during a fire alarm.
Standard kits are designed for installation on 36”-48” doors. Special kits are available for many brands for doors as narrow as 30”. Request to exit kits are also available as additional options for many of the brands listed above.
